Maintaining a secure environment over time can become an unwieldy task. Security Auditor is used to generate datasets containing detailed membership and access rights information describing who has access to what and why. This information can then be reported on within the IBM Cognos studios, making it easy to regularly audit environment security.
Security Editor offers the ability to view and edit security policies for any object within an IBM Cognos environment using simple drag and drop gestures. In addition the portal tree provides quick context menus for creating namespace folders, groups and roles. Group and role memberships can be modified by simply dragging users into the groups. Even more, security can be exported, modified and then imported into the environment or another environment.
Security Find / Replace helps correct damaged security mappings due to changes in the underlying LDAP structure securing Cognos. This module has also come in handy when trying to replace one CAMID with another. For example, any place where Joe’s CAMID is being used, change it to Jane.
Once a reporting and analytical environment has been established, it is often critical to secure the environment so that the appropriate users see only their applicable content and have access to only the appropriate capabilities in the portal. Security Painter allows administrators to easily modify any security within the Content Store (Packages, Folders, Reports, Capabilities, Datasources, etc.) across one or multiple objects.
Security Replicator enables replication of security assignments from one account in an environment to many other accounts, groups and roles. In addition, security policies and memberships can be replicated across environments.
Signon Blasters was designed to automate the tedious task of changing a database password and the adverse impact it has on IBM Cognos environments. If you have a password policy for your database accounts that impact your datasources across several IBM Cognos environments, this module is a must have. Through a simple interface, you can supply a new password for a database and select all of the connections from dozens of IBM Cognos environments that will be impacted.
