Server Installation
The ICS Server Installer will install the ICS application comprised of a .Net Core service that hosts its own webserver. This installation should be performed on a server that is accessible to the IBM Cognos Analytics servers and may be installed on an IBM Cognos Analytics server if desired.
ICS
Extension Installation
The ICS Extension download can be found in the ICS Configuration on the General Configuration tab. Once you have downloaded the ICS Extension package you will need to upload it into the IBM Cognos Analytics environment. This extension serves as the gateway components for the ICS integration.
ICS
Plugin Installation
The ICS Plugin Installer will install integration components into the IBM Cognos Analytics installation. This installer should be performed on each IBM Cognos Analytics Content Manager Server.
ICS
Disable/Enable Extension
The Integrated Control Suite™ Automatic Installer provides start menu items for Disabling and Enabling (Reinstalling) the Plugin Integration. This is useful in case it becomes necessary to disable ICS while requesting support from IBM Cognos Analytics, or as a debugging tool when trying to prove or disprove that an issue is being caused by the ICS installation.

Uninstall ICS
This tutorial gives an overview of how to uninstall the ICS server, ICS plugin, and the ICS extension.
ICS
Integrated Client Versioning
Integrated Client Versioning provides a version control solution for folders and files located on a Windows file system. This functionality was designed specifically for providing a Version Control solution for Framework Manager and Transformer projects.
ICS
Recycle Bin
The Recycle Bin content can be accessed by any IBM Cognos Analytics users by selecting ICS > Recycle Bin. Without Admin Rights, when viewing “Recycle Bin”, the user will only be able to view, recover or permanently delete content that was deleted by them.
ICS
Activity Feed - Search - Version Viewer
The Activity Feed provides an overview of recent modifications within your Cognos environment. Search allows the user to search for objects, based on the version number and comments. The Version Viewer provides Revision History for all objects versioned in your Cognos Environment, and provides a way to access the Revision History screen to revert, compare, and deploy these objects between environments.
ICS
Server Configuration
The ICS Configuration is setup by using the ICS Configuration wizard. Make sure to create a database in one of the supported databases before moving onto this step. Once you have opened the setup wizard you will have the option to create a setup from an existing database or a new database. The ICS Configuration allows you to manage the configuration setting that are used to connect ICS to your Cognos Environment.
ICS
IIS Setup
The setup for IIS requires an additional rewrite rule for the ICS Service, similar to the mapping for the BI folder in IBM Cognos (For example – C:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\analytics\webcontent\bi)

ICS
Configure Administration View
The Administration view is the sole location for configuration and maintenance once all of the components and database connection have been established and the extension has been installed. In this walk-through we will go over how to configure these settings.
ICS
Integrated Version Control
ICS provides change control management within the Cognos environment. Upon checkout, the team content version of the report becomes locked preventing other users from modifying the content or checking it out.
ICS
Active Users
Active Users allows you to notify users about object check ins, alerting concurrent editing, broadcast messaging users, and monitoring logged on users and activity
ICS
Deployment
Integrated Deployment Manager provides Administrators with the ability to deploy objects in bulk to a target IBM Cognos Analytics environment directly from within the ICS slide-out. Administrators can deploy a variety of objects, including Packages, Folders, Reports, Jobs and URLs.
